The River Aura Information Centre can be
found in the old Miller’s House next to the Halistenkoski rapids. The
Centre provides information about the River Aura and tips for tourists,
as well as selling fishing permits. There is also a café and
rent-a-canoe
service.

The Information Centre also houses the offices of the River Aurajoki Foundation, and
Fishing Areas of Southwest Finland and Airisto that are
responsible for fishing issues. The Miller’s House opens views to the
cultural riverscape, history and nature of the River Aura. The changing
photograph, art and theme exhibitions deepen the information provided by
the brochures and the permanent exhibition about the history of the mill.
The cosy conference room is available for associations and companies.
The River Aura Information Centre provides help in issues related to the
River Aura, recreational fishing and canoeing. There are brochures and
books, as well as reports and surveys on different subjects. You can
also read literature and view cd-rom’s on nature and history in the
exhibition room.
The cosy café of the Information Centre serves coffee, tea, soft drinks,
pastries baked in the Miller’s House, sandwiches and ice cream. There
are also souvenirs from the River Aura, such as books, shirts and
postcards. We can arrange coffee serving even for larger groups by order.
There are various brochures on fishing, canoeing, places by the River
Aura and countryside tourism available free of charge in the café.
